Senior Mechanical Engineer (Static & Piping)

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree: Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Status: Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable

Experience

  • 10 years relevant post-graduate experience, including 6 years in the Oil & Gas industry across Static and Piping disciplines
  • Expert-level competency required in at least one discipline
  • Ability to identify and use relevant engineering standards, international codes and company standards related to Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in greenfield/brownfield major engineering projects and multiple-project environments
  • Experience in concept development, FEED, EPIC and technical support to site/plant operations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with fluency in English

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical design and engineering services in Mechanical Engineering for assigned projects, achieving required technical quality while considering schedule, cost and HSE
  • Conduct Mechanical Engineering activities and in-house site surveys from concept definition through engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning
  • Ensure technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated into work scopes and activities; review technical deviations/variations
  • Support review, update and application of engineering standards and amendments to external standards
  • Plan and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams for timely delivery of technical services
  • Coordinate engineering designs and develop/review multidisciplinary work scopes, ensuring completeness and clarity
  • Review and approve contractor method statements for scope compliance and resolve technical issues
  • Develop, update and monitor in-house engineering schedules and contribute to FEED/EPIC scheduling
  • Evaluate technical bid packages for scope compliance
  • Review and evaluate contract changes/variations to approved guidelines and practices
  • Support development of personal and coworker technical competency and participate in structured training for Associate Engineers
