Senior Transmission Line Engineer
Location: Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaEmployment: Permanent, full time

Eligibility: Open only to Malaysian citizens, Malaysian permanent residents and valid Residence Pass-Talent holders
Role Purpose
Deliver and check overhead transmission line designs for Australian network and infrastructure projects. The role covers line geometry, clearances, conductors, structures, foundations and coordination with survey, geotechnical and environmental inputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop route, profile and detailed line designs from feasibility through construction issue.
- Undertake conductor selection, sag-tension, electrical clearance, structure spotting and loading assessments.
- Design or coordinate towers, poles, foundations, insulators, fittings and earthing requirements.
- Build, review and quality-check transmission line models, calculations, drawings, reports and schedules.
- Assess design options for safety, reliability, constructability, environmental constraints and whole-life value.
- Coordinate survey, LiDAR, geotechnical, civil, structural and electrical interfaces.
- Respond to client and construction queries and support technical reviews and site activities when required.
- Guide junior engineers and contribute to standards, templates and lessons learned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong overhead line design experience appropriate to a senior appointment.
- Working knowledge of conductor mechanics, clearances, structures, foundations and line design criteria.
- Competence with PLS-CADD and relevant line, tower or pole design tools.
- Ability to independently deliver and check technical work.
- Professional English and effective client communication.
Desirable Experience
- PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE, TOWER or structural analysis experience.
- Australian Standards, utility standards or comparable international transmission experience.
- Exposure to 330 kV, 500 kV, renewable energy zone or major interconnector projects.
Working Environment
This is a permanent, office-based position in Kuala Lumpur. The successful candidate will work as part of an international engineering team, with most assignments supporting power infrastructure projects in Australia. Some collaboration outside standard Malaysian office hours may occasionally be required to support project meetings and deadlines.
