Lead Transmission Line Manager
Location: Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaEmployment: Permanent, full time

Role Purpose
Lead a transmission line engineering team delivering overhead line projects for Australian networks and infrastructure programmes. This role is responsible for technical standards, team performance, design quality, and coordination across line, tower, foundation, survey, and project disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical and operational delivery of overhead transmission line design assignments.
- Allocate work, forecast resources, and develop engineers and designers across multiple project stages.
- Oversee route development, line profiling, conductor selection, electrical clearances, loading, structures, foundations, and construction interfaces.
- Set checking and approval arrangements and ensure calculations, models, drawings, and reports meet project requirements.
- Resolve complex technical issues and guide option selection using safety, performance, cost, and constructability considerations.
- Coordinate with clients, utilities, surveyors, geotechnical specialists, environmental teams, and other design disciplines.
- Support bids, estimates, programmes, change control, and technical risk management.
- Build consistent methods, templates, and lessons learned across the transmission line function.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong overhead transmission line design experience, including leadership of engineers and designers.
- Advanced understanding of line design criteria, structural loading, clearances, conductors, towers or poles, and foundations.
- Demonstrated capability with technical assurance, multidisciplinary interfaces, and client engagement.
- Experience with recognised transmission line design software and engineering calculations.
- Professional English and the ability to lead an international delivery team.
Desirable Experience
- Advanced PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER, or PLS-POLE experience.
- Chartered or professional engineering status.
- Experience with Australian transmission networks, 330 kV or 500 kV projects, or major renewable energy zones.
Working Environment
This is a permanent, office-based position in Kuala Lumpur. The successful candidate will work as part of an international engineering team, with most assignments supporting power infrastructure projects in Australia. Some collaboration outside standard Malaysian office hours may occasionally be required to support project meetings and deadlines.
