Senior Civil / Structural Engineer – Onshore

Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Civil / Structural Engineer to support major onshore oil and gas engineering projects in Qatar. The role involves delivering high-quality civil and structural engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle, from concept development through FEED, detailed design, construction support, and commissioning.
The successful candidate will work within multidisciplinary project teams, supporting complex engineering scopes while ensuring compliance with project standards, safety requirements, schedules, and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver civil and structural engineering design and technical support for onshore oil and gas projects
- Execute engineering activities from concept studies through FEED, detailed engineering, and commissioning support
- Conduct site surveys and technical assessments for project development activities
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, safety requirements, and environmental regulations
- Review technical deviations, engineering variations, and contractor submissions
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities and project interfaces
- Develop and review engineering work scopes and technical documentation
- Review and approve contractor method statements and technical deliverables
- Liaise with contractors and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support project execution
- Support development and monitoring of engineering schedules and project deliverables
- Participate in technical bid evaluations and contractor assessments
- Support continuous improvement of engineering standards and technical practices
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and project teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of post-graduate engineering experience
- At least 6 years of experience within the oil and gas or energy sector
- Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering standards, codes, and industry practices
- Experience supporting FEED, detailed design, and engineering project delivery
- Proven ability to manage engineering quality, cost, and schedule requirements across multiple projects
- Strong understanding of HSE requirements within industrial project environments
- Excellent communication, coordination, and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
- Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer, or equivalent professional registration is advantageous
Preferred Experience
- Experience working on major onshore oil and gas facilities
- Familiarity with GCC project environments and international engineering standards
- Experience supporting contractor management and technical bid evaluations
- Strong stakeholder coordination and technical review experience
