Principal Electrical Engineer – Data Center
As a Principal Electrical Engineer – Data Center, you will lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle support of mission-critical electrical infrastructure for hyperscale data center environments. This role is critical to ensuring maximum uptime, operational efficiency, and the highest standards of safety across a rapidly expanding global portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering and design of medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, including UPS, generator backup, and emergency power systems supporting high-density critical loads.
- Develop, review, and approve technical documentation including single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and installation drawings.
- Ensure all electrical designs and installations comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations, including NEC and IEC requirements.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, civil, controls, and IT teams to establish project requirements, design criteria, budgets, and delivery schedules.
- Provide technical leadership throughout project lifecycles, including design reviews, value engineering exercises, factory acceptance testing (FAT), commissioning activities, and on-site inspections.
- Perform detailed analysis of electrical systems to identify and resolve issues related to load balancing, capacity planning, system resilience, and energy optimization.
- Stay current with emerging data center technologies and industry best practices, recommending innovative solutions to enhance reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Support projects from concept design through construction, commissioning, and operational handover, including field engineering and construction support activities.
