Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or degree in an Engineering discipline.
Experience:
- A minimum of 12 years experience in multi discipline quantity surveying, especially for infrastructure and civil projects.
- Working experience in oil and gas or petrochemical industry is preferred.
- Practical experience in tenders, administration of remeasurable contracts, B.O.Q preparation and estimation is required.
- Experience with major ERP and MS Office applications.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- A high degree of literacy in the English language (written and spoken).
- Ability to work under pressure and tight time constraints.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all quantity surveying activities connected to infrastructure and civil capital projects, including preparation and verification of Bills of Quantities, man-hour requirements, tender and contracts documentation based upon the scope of work.
- Participate in technical evaluations and commercial evaluations for tenders.
- Establish and update total installed unit cost data for a wide range of oil and gas and infrastructure projects.
- Upload additional cost data for completed projects to the cost estimating database to improve the effective use of the in-house cost estimation database system.
- Act on behalf of the company with commensurate responsibility for all cost engineering, budgeting, and invoicing related matters pertaining to projects executed by the engineering departments.
- Determine applicable rates and applicable estimation strategy, preliminary and general matters and mark-up to be used for cost estimates.
- Endorse or reject contractor invoices and contractor submissions for claims based on cost evaluation and assessment.
- Verify and endorse Bills of Quantities and man-hour requirements prepared by engineering consultants and integrate them into construction tenders and contracts.
- Perform physical verification and endorsement of re-measurable works of construction contractors.
