Quality Supervisor - EPC Project (Steel / Piping / Structures)

Client: Global EPC contractor in the metals industry

Assignment Type: Short-term contract (approx. 3 months)

Working Location: Site-based in Southern Sweden

Start Date: Early June (ASAP)

Duration: Until end of August

Project Context

The client is delivering an EPC project for a major steel producer in Sweden. They are seeking an experienced Quality Supervisor to support site execution activities, ensuring all quality documentation, inspections, and compliance processes are properly managed and aligned with project and client requirements.

Role Overview

The Quality Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities across multiple disciplines, including:

  • Steel structures
  • Piping systems
  • Bolt tightening
  • Painting/coating
  • Pressure testing

The role requires strong coordination with construction teams, subcontractors, and the client's third-party inspectors to ensure that all works are compliant, fully documented, and completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all quality documentation on site
  • Collect, review, and verify completeness of QA/QC dossiers
  • Ensure documentation aligns with project specifications and client requirements
  • Perform site quality inspections across structural, mechanical, and piping scopes
  • Coordinate and participate in inspections with client and third-party inspectors
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Technical standards
    • Project specifications
    • Applicable codes and procedures
  • Monitor and track inspection progress and punch list items
  • Support pressure testing activities and associated documentation
  • Oversee quality aspects of:
    • Bolting/tightening activities
    • Painting/coating works
  • Interface with site management, subcontractors, and client representatives
  • Report on quality status, risks, and non-conformances

HSE and Compliance Requirements

  • Develop and submit a Project Safety Plan (HSE Plan)
  • Ensure all required documentation is in place prior to mobilization, including:
    • A1 Certificate
    • Insurance certificates (liability, medical, accident)
  • Comply with site HSE procedures (client HSE team will be present on site)
  • Maintain alignment with client and statutory requirements in Sweden

Logistics and Conditions

  • Accommodation:
    • Option 1: Hotel (paid by consultant and reimbursed)
    • Option 2: Apartment (preferred, arranged and paid directly by client)
  • Flights:
    • Provided and booked directly by the client
  • Local Transport:
    • Rental cars arranged by client
    • Shared between supervisors (approx. 1 car per 2-3 personnel)
  • Work Location:
    • Site-based in Southern Sweden
    • Candidate must be eligible to enter and work in Sweden

Required Experience and Skills

  • Proven experience as a Quality Supervisor / QAQC Supervisor on EPC or industrial projects
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Steel structures
    • Piping systems
    • Pressure testing
    • Coating/painting inspections
    • Bolting/tightening controls
  • Experience working with QA/QC documentation and handover dossiers
  • Ability to work with third-party inspectors and client representatives
  • Familiarity with international construction standards and quality procedures
  • Experience on steel plants, heavy industry, or similar environments preferred
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in an international site environment
