Project Scheduler

Role Purpose

Create and maintain practical project schedules for multidisciplinary engineering assignments delivered for Australian clients. The scheduler will provide clear progress information, identify pressure points early and help project managers maintain realistic delivery plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop baseline schedules with clear activities, logic, milestones, dependencies, calendars and resource assumptions.
• Work with project managers and discipline leads to translate scope into measurable work packages.
• Update actual progress, remaining duration, forecast dates and resource requirements.
• Analyse critical and near-critical paths, float, slippage, trends and schedule risk.
• Prepare look-ahead plans, progress dashboards, variance commentary and recovery scenarios.
• Maintain schedule change records and align programme information with project reports and commercial controls.
• Check schedule quality and challenge missing logic, unrealistic constraints or unsupported progress.
• Support portfolio-level workload and capacity planning where required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Qualification in engineering, project controls, construction management or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience developing and updating integrated project schedules.
• Competence with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or comparable planning software.
• Understanding of critical path method, progress measurement, baselines and change control.
• Strong attention to detail and confidence gathering updates from technical teams.
• Clear English communication and concise reporting skills.

Desirable Experience

• Experience in an engineering consultancy or design environment.
• Power, utilities, transmission or substation project exposure.
• Experience integrating schedule, cost and resource information.

Working Environment

This is a permanent, office-based position in Kuala Lumpur. The successful candidate will work as part of an international engineering team, with most assignments supporting power infrastructure projects in Australia. Some collaboration outside standard Malaysian office hours may occasionally be required to support project meetings and deadlines.
