Overview
A leading energy operator is seeking a Technical Instructor to deliver training and competency programs for operations and maintenance personnel. The role focuses on developing workforce capability to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of industrial facilities.
The Role
You will design and deliver technical training, including classroom and simulator-based programs, while supporting competency development across operations and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver technical training programs, including classroom and simulator-based learning
- Design and implement competency frameworks to support operational readiness
- Analyse training needs and create tailored training materials and troubleshooting scenarios
- Provide on-the-job training and support knowledge transfer between experienced staff and trainees
- Conduct assessments of technical knowledge, field skills, and operational procedures
- Support onboarding programs to ensure staff readiness for assigned units and equipment
- Deliver simulator training and enhance training scenarios for operational performance
- Define and track training metrics aligned with operational and project requirements
- Embed process safety and safety culture principles into all training programs
- Prepare training reports and recommend targeted development plans
Requirements
- HND or equivalent in Engineering
- Minimum 4 years of oil and gas operations experience, including at least 2 years in a training role
- Strong experience in operations or maintenance of industrial or oil and gas facilities
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Strong computer skills including MS Office and SharePoint
- Good organisational, planning, and communication skills
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop technical staff
