JOB DIMENSIONS
The S-lay Pipelay Vessel - Field Engineer will work in shifts on vessel and report directly to the Vessel Lead / CSR on board. During the preparation phase and the installation phase of MZ LNG project, the incumbent will assist the CSR in their technical appraisal and supervision of the pipelay operations. The scope of work will particularly focus on the installation multiple rigid lines (SW: 3x 22" trunklines, 1x 8" MEG line, 1x 6" MEG line from SW PLB Stingray and 3x 33" DW trunklines from the Solitaire) working under offshore EPCI Contractor (MTV).
Warrant that the project is executed as per approved procedures and drawings,
Ensure that any relevant deviations are captured via an MoC (according to the SW MoC procedure)
Provide installation engineering support during campaign (interface with CTR engineering, Ops, HSE & QAQC. Assist MWS, check TPI's, report)
Participate in technical reviews, HAZID/ SIMOPS, and Change Management. Ensure technical and HSE safety protocols are followed
Rotational position offshore during the S-lay vessel campaign(s)
ACTIVITIES
Perform oversight and monitor the progress of CONTRACTOR's Completion Process.
Report to N+1 Lead as appropriate and share daily progress and status effectively with others coming on next shift
Participate in installation risk assessment and follow mitigation measures, in coordination with the CTR risk management team.
Supply verified information to the reporting system that allows full tracking of installation events. Help mitigate potential change orders
Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with Operations team located on the vessels.
Monitor/witness offshore installation activities by the vessel and ensure installation is in accordance with CPY requirements.
Report to the vessel Lead and the Installation manager about all technical issues that require to be specifically addressed in documentation review or during installation and mobilization progress meetings (Management of Change)
Liaise with dedicated Project Team specialists, such as Afungi Marine/Logistic or TOTAL HQ Specialists (DEV/TEC), or third parties, if required.
Contribute to lesson learned of the project and close-out report
Act as back-to-back for CSR in case of long-lasting witness ops
CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
US $20 Billion investment, 17,000-acre LNG facility site that includes private airstrip, marine facilities, and 18 subsea wells - 5-year construction period, utilizing a staff of 1500+ employees and contractors based in Houston, Milan, Paris, Singapore and Mozambique
12.88 MTPA from 2 Initial Trains - 25-year production period
Mozambique LNG is a subsea (1,400m) to shore dry gas field development located in the norther part of Mozambique. The SW pipelay scope will approx. lay over 5 months and comprises of the installation of 5 sealines in a pre-dredged trench (shore pull in followed by lay towards KP 12.6 then recovery of the pipelines at KP 12.6 followed by lay through the reef towards KP 17.7). The DW pipelay scope with the Solitaire includes laying 3 trunklines of 22", approx. 80km total length during an 8-week offshore campaign.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
The preparation of the vessel offshore pipelay campaign
The safe, on schedule and good quality execution of the pipelay campaigns
Ensuring the MWS can carry out scope of work with suitable documentation and attendance to test/ operations/ vessels.
With the permits and compliance coordinator in Maputo, ensure that Contractor and Company are fulfilling their regulatory duties.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Degree in Engineering or similar with a minimum 10 years in Oil & Gas industry with related offshore technical, quality and HSE oversight experience and at least 5 years of offshore installation with S-lay technique.
Ability to work well in high-stress, fast paced environment with others in an international and multi-cultural environment.
Ability to multi-task and work as part of small and flexible team and manage interfaces between multiple contractors.
Take responsibility for the area of work and hold yourself accountable to deliver in line with those responsibilities accordingly.
Onboard vessel experience in managing offshore installation contractors and supporting inspection services and HSE oversight.
Ability to travel to the USA / to Europe / to Mozambique.
Willingness to support back-to-back during leave period.
Fluency in the English language.
Current BOSIET and OGUK Medical certification prior to mobilizing offshore.
A fitness to work assessment is required and must be oil and gas (OGUK accredited). This may require 1 year renewal.
