Construction Supervisor (Electrical & Instrumentation) (Pos. 19.1.7 / 19.1.8)
Qualifications
- B.Sc. in an Engineering discipline from a recognized University (or) Ordinary National Certificate (ONC) level in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering discipline (or) Diploma in Electrical, Electronics (or) Instrumentation Engineering plus relevant courses in Safety, Quality Control and Construction.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years overall experience in supervising E&I related fabrication activities onshore and offshore of oil and gas production / wellhead platform topside and jacket structures, including construction work and material inspection, review and approval of construction method statements, and load-out activities.
- Experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, Telemetry and Telecom disciplines of oil and gas offshore projects.
- Computer literate with good communication and writing skills.
- Excellent command of English (oral and written).
- Strong knowledge of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety and environmental awareness.
- Excellent ability to interpret and review method statements, inspection and test plans, construction schedules and drawings.
- Ability to highlight potential bottlenecks/problems and propose effective solutions.
- Ability to supervise a multi-national and multi-cultural contractor workforce.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible and accountable for providing oversight of day-to-day construction and execution of E&I activities for assigned field projects to ensure they are constructed in accordance with the approved scope of work, approved drawings, engineering design, and safety and environmental standards and specifications.
- Oversee and provide guidance and advice to contractors primarily on Electrical and Instrumentation construction activities and secondarily on Telemetry and Telecom construction activities to ensure they are performed as per approved method statements, complying with project schedule, quality and material requirements.
- Supervise EPIC contractors during the execution of Electrical, Instrumentation, F&G, DCS, ESD and Telecom related construction activities at offshore construction sites in production stations and related locations.
- Participate in reviewing detailed design drawings, method statements and material receipt inspections.
- Supervise, monitor, check and perform material receipt inspection in accordance with drawings, standards and specifications. Raise damage and/or missing material reports as required.
- Check and ensure that all construction works are completed in accordance with approved standards and consistent with contract specifications.
- Review and facilitate approval of long-term isolation plans submitted by contractors during brownfield modification and hook-up works.
- Carry out daily checks on contractor's workforce and prepare activity reports of work carried out during the previous day.
- Review contractors' construction plans, schedules, method statements, procedures, including offshore logistics.
- Perform and witness inspections based on approved ITPs and certify completion of works. Sign inspection test records and quality control forms.
- Supervise and approve contractor E&I activities including, but not limited to, cable pulling, termination, glanding, loop shooting, megering, cabinet installation, field instrument installation and testing at contractor yards, production stations and offshore sites.
- Coordinate with contractors and specialized vendors such as ESD, DCS, F&G and Telecom and supervise and approve their works in accordance with approved drawings, applicable standards and specifications.
- Maintain a daily record of progress, noting special comments. Report to supervisors any work anomalies or contractual deviations committed by contractor personnel and recommend corrective actions.
- Sign work permits on behalf of the operating company and ensure contractor compliance with conditions fixed on consolidated work permits.
