Qualifications

  • B.Sc., Higher National Diploma, or Diploma in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Relevant courses in Safety, Quality Control, and Construction.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 to 12 years overall experience coordinating and supervising offshore heavy lifts, non-routine lifts, and offshore installation for EPIC projects such as Oil & Gas production/wellhead platforms, jackets, and subsea installations.
  • Experience reviewing and approving contractor lifting plans, certificates, method statements, and load-out activities.
  • Computer literate with strong communication and writing skills.
  • Robust FEED and EPIC experience with a strong capability to review and approve contractor deliverables.
  • Excellent command of English, both oral and written.
  • Excellent knowledge of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety, and environmental awareness.
  • Excellent ability to interpret and review method statements, ITPs, construction schedules, and drawings.
  • Ability to identify bottlenecks or problems, suggest solutions, and supervise a multinational or multicultural contractor workforce.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage offshore heavy lifts and non-routine installations, including topsides, jackets, and critical subsea installations such as pipelines, umbilicals, skids, tie-in spools, risers, and J-Tubes.
  • Ensure lifting engineering, coordination, plans, and offshore mobilisation are conducted in accordance with approved Scope of Work, drawings, engineering design, and project requirements.
  • Provide guidance to contractors on offshore heavy lifts and subsea installation activities and ensure compliance with approved method statements, schedule, quality, and material requirements.
  • Manage contractor engineering and review, comment on, and approve construction engineering documents in PDMS.
  • Attend Constructability, SIMOPS, Schedule Risk Analysis, 3D Model, HAZOP, and Lifting Plan reviews.
  • Act as project focal point for lifting activities and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in engineering workshops during FEED and EPIC stages.
  • Ensure offshore heavy lifts or installations comply with industry standards, specifications, and approved drawings.
  • Monitor and report contractor performance, manpower, plant or equipment movements, and construction slippages.
  • Identify construction risks, propose mitigations, and ensure implementation on site.
  • Liaise with senior discipline engineers on lifting matters during detailed engineering and procurement.
  • Review lifting plans, certificates, schedules, method statements, and procedures for compliance.
  • Maintain daily progress records and report anomalies or contractual deviations along with corrective recommendations.
  • Monitor work permits and contractor compliance.
  • Interface with contractors, projects, departments, operations, and approved agencies on offshore lifting matters.
  • Support the development and enhancement of standards, specifications, and guidelines.
