This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading international engineering organisation, delivering major offshore oil and gas, LNG, offshore platforms, jackets, topsides, FPSO and energy transition projects across the globe.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will lead offshore structural engineering activities while working closely with international project teams. The role will also involve regular travel to Mumbai, India, for project coordination, technical reviews and multidisciplinary engineering workshops.

The Opportunity

As the Lead Offshore Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the offshore structural discipline across FEED and EPC projects, ensuring technical excellence, project delivery and client satisfaction throughout all phases of engineering.

You will provide technical leadership to a team of structural engineers, coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines, review critical design deliverables and ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with international offshore design standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the offshore structural engineering discipline on major offshore FEED and EPC projects.
- Manage and mentor a team of structural engineers, providing technical leadership, coaching and guidance throughout project execution.
- Take overall responsibility for the delivery of offshore structural engineering design packages, ensuring quality, schedule and budget objectives are achieved.
- Prepare, review and approve offshore structural engineering calculations and technical documentation.
- Lead the preparation and review of:
- Material Requisitions
- Structural Design Calculations
- Engineering Specifications
- Technical Reports
- Material Take-Offs (MTOs)
- Vendor Document Reviews
- Interpret and incorporate geotechnical investigations, bathymetric surveys and metocean data into offshore structural designs.
- Coordinate closely with geotechnical, naval architecture, marine, piping, mechanical, process and installation engineering disciplines.
- Review supplier documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
- Drive value engineering initiatives to optimise structural designs, minimise material quantities and improve constructability.
- Support procurement activities, fabrication engineering, installation engineering and offshore construction teams.
- Ensure compliance with international offshore design codes, client specifications and company engineering standards.
- Monitor engineering progress, budgets, deliverables and resource utilisation throughout project execution.
- Interface directly with clients, fabrication contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams during design reviews and project execution.
- Promote continuous improvement, technical excellence and engineering best practices across the offshore structural discipline.

About You

The successful candidate will be a technically strong offshore structural engineer with proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex offshore developments.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in offshore structural engineering within the oil and gas or offshore energy sector.
- Proven experience leading offshore structural engineering teams on FEED and EPC projects.
- Strong knowledge of fixed offshore platforms, jackets, topsides and offshore structures.
- Extensive experience with international offshore design codes including API, ISO, DNV and relevant industry standards.
- Strong understanding of offshore installation engineering and structural integrity requirements.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally for project execution and client meetings.

Technical Software Experience

Essential:
- Advanced user of SACS
- Strong experience with USFOS
- Experience using GRLWEAP

Extensive experience performing:
- Static In-Place Analysis
- Dynamic In-Place Analysis
- Spectral Fatigue Analysis
- Lifting Analysis
- Load-Out Analysis
- On-Bottom Stability Analysis
- Pile Driveability Analysis

Highly Desirable:
- SESAM
- Abaqus
- ANSYS

Additional experience in:
- Seismic Analysis (ELE and ALE)
- Blast and Fire Structural Collapse Analysis
- Wind Fatigue Analysis
- Structural Vibration Analysis
