Qualification

  • Higher National Certificate (HNC), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Diploma in Mechanical from a recognized university with extensive offshore installation experience in Oil & Gas projects.
  • Strong skills in construction management, effective communication, and conflict resolution.
  • Relevant courses in Safety, Quality Control, and Construction are an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 8 to 10 years overall experience supervising offshore installation of EPIC projects such as oil and gas production/wellhead platforms, jacket structures, pipelay, cable lay, including construction work and material inspection, reviewing and approving construction method statements, and load-out activities.
  • Computer literate with good communication and writing skills.
  • Robust experience in FEED and EPIC projects with strong capability to review and approve contractor deliverables.
  • Excellent command of English language, both oral and written.
  • Excellent knowledge of offshore installation industry engineering standards, quality control, safety, and environmental awareness.
  • Strong ability to interpret and review method statements, inspection and test plans, construction schedules, and drawings.
  • Ability to identify potential bottlenecks/problems and suggest solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise a multi-national and multi-cultural contractor workforce.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage offshore installations, heavy lifts, and non-routine installations such as topsides, jackets, and critical subsea installations including pipeline, umbilical, skids and tie-in spools, risers, and J-Tubes.
  • Ensure assigned field projects are installed in accordance with approved Scope of Work, drawings, engineering design, safety and environmental requirements, and relevant standards and specifications.
  • Oversee and provide guidance and advice to bidders/contractors on offshore heavy lifts and subsea installations to ensure performance in line with approved method statements, project schedule, quality, and material requirements.
  • Manage and guide the contractor during tendering/bidding and engineering; review, comment on, and approve contractor deliverables.
  • Attend engineering workshops including Constructability Review, SIMOPS, Schedule Risk Analysis, 3D Model Reviews, HAZOP, HAZDEM, and Lifting Plan reviews, providing input to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Participate in all engineering workshops during EPIC and all offshore campaigns related to pipelines, umbilicals, and subsea installation.
  • Ensure contractor executes offshore installation in accordance with set standards, specifications, and approved drawings.
  • Monitor, control, and report on contractor performance, manpower deployment, plant and equipment movements, construction slippages, and related matters.
  • Act as the construction Risk Management representative to identify construction risk events, effects and consequences, propose mitigation measures, and ensure implementation at site.
  • Liaise with senior discipline engineers throughout all project phases on construction matters, including detailed engineering and procurement stages.
  • Review contractors' installation plans, schedules, method statements, procedures, and offshore logistics.
  • Maintain daily progress records, report work anomalies or contractual deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor and control work permits to ensure contractor compliance with conditions on consolidated work permits.
  • Coordinate mobilisation and demobilisation of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to offshore sites following contract award.
  • Interface with other contractors, projects, and departments to identify and resolve construction matters, particularly with Production and Maintenance departments.
