Position Overview

An experienced HSE Consultant is required to provide on-site health, safety, and environmental support for a utility-scale solar construction project. The role involves working closely with the project management team, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure construction activities are completed safely and in accordance with project requirements, company standards, and applicable regulations. This is a field-based position requiring a strong understanding of safety practices within large-scale construction environments. Previous experience in utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or power generation construction is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily on-site HSE oversight throughout construction activities.
• Conduct site walks, safety observations, audits, and inspections.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with project safety requirements.
• Identify unsafe conditions or behaviors and work with site teams to implement corrective actions.
• Lead and participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and pre-task planning.
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and other site safety documentation.
• Support incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
• Maintain accurate HSE documentation, reports, observations, and incident records.
• Monitor high-risk activities including electrical work, excavation, lifting and rigging, heavy equipment operations, working at heights, and energized systems.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and applicable federal, state, and project-specific requirements.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of safety practices within large-scale construction environments.
• Previous experience in utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or power generation construction is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable federal, state, and project-specific safety requirements.
• Experience conducting site safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Ability to lead safety meetings and communicate effectively with site teams.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
