Overview

A specialist Data Center operator is seeking a Texas-based Data Center Field Technician to install, maintain, and repair IT infrastructure at customer, colocation, and hyperscale sites across Texas and the United States. This role requires extensive travel and independent work in live data center environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Rack, cable, and bring up servers, switches, storage, and network equipment to site standards
• Install, label, and test copper and fiber; maintain cable maps, rack elevations, and asset records
• Diagnose and replace failed hardware, including drives, memory, power supplies, NICs, and full units
• Support deployments, commissioning, remote-hands requests, and change-control work
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, and project teams; complete accurate field reports

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Two or more years in a data center, telecommunications, structured cabling, or IT hardware role
• Valid U.S. driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in hot/cold-aisle environments
• Ability to travel extensively and work nights and weekends
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Authorization to work in the United States

• CompTIA A+, Network+, or Server+ certification
• BICSI or fiber testing experience
• Dell, HPE, Cisco, or GPU server experience
• OSHA 10/30 certification
• Military or field-service background

Travel, Schedule, and Benefits

• Residence in Texas near a major airport is required
• Assignments typically last two to four weeks and may include nights, weekends, holidays, and short-notice travel
• Airfare, lodging, ground transportation, and per diem are provided
• This position is not suited to a fixed, single-site schedule
