Ansible Automation Consultant

Role Purpose
Deliver a temporary two-month automation assignment focused on SharePoint Server patching and associated maintenance activities. Design, develop, test, and implement automation using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to reduce manual effort and improve the consistency, reliability, and repeatability of patching procedures. Enable maintainable automation for on-premises SharePoint environments and transfer the required knowledge to the operational team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for SharePoint Server patching and maintenance.
- Integrate the automation solution with the existing Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform environment.
- Implement appropriate validation, logging, error-handling, and rollback procedures.
- Document the solution and provide effective knowledge transfer to the operational team.
- Support testing, issue resolution, and the initial production implementation.
- Apply automation and source-control best practices throughout the assignment.
- Work with technical and operational stakeholders to confirm requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure the delivered solution is repeatable, supportable, and suitable for ongoing maintenance.
Tasks
- Assess the existing SharePoint patching and maintenance process and identify automation requirements.
- Design the automation workflow within the established Ansible Automation Platform environment.
- Create reusable Ansible playbooks supporting SharePoint and Windows Server maintenance activities.
- Configure validation checks, execution logging, failure handling, and rollback steps where applicable.
- Manage automation content using Git-based source control and agreed development practices.
- Test the automation thoroughly before supporting its initial production deployment.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and refine playbooks based on testing outcomes.
- Produce operating guidance and deliver practical knowledge-transfer sessions.
Deliverables
- Tested and documented Ansible playbooks for SharePoint patching and maintenance.
- Integration of the automation solution with the existing Ansible Automation Platform.

- Testing evidence and support for the initial production implementation.
- Operational documentation and completed knowledge transfer for the support team.
Authority / Accountability
- Own the technical design and implementation of the assigned Ansible automation solution.
- Recommend practical automation approaches and best practices within the agreed scope.
- Take responsibility for solution quality, test readiness, and clear technical documentation.
- Coordinate technical dependencies and escalate material delivery risks or blockers promptly.
Requirements
- Relevant higher education in IT, computer science, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Senior-level automation consulting experience, with approximately 6 to 9 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
- Strong Ansible playbook design and development skills.
- Familiarity with Git-based source control and automation best practices.
- Experience documenting automation solutions and transferring knowledge to operational teams.
- Experience with Windows Server automation is beneficial.
- Experience with SharePoint Server administration and patching is beneficial.
- Fluent spoken and written English is mandatory. Fluent Swedish is highly desirable.
Working Conditions
- Temporary two-month assignment from 12th October 2026 to 11th December 2026.
