Role Objective

We are seeking a proactive, flexible consultant to support offshore wind farm projects in the client portfolio. The consultant will deliver high-quality fabrication supervision, with a primary focus on coating activities, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and adapt to evolving project priorities and workloads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Coating Fabrication Inspector / Fabrication Supervisor with qualifications such as Frosio Level III, NACE Level 2-3, or ICORR Painting Inspector Level 3 (additional qualifications for VT / NDT are an advantage).
  • Serve as Senior Fabrication Supervisor with a preliminary focus on coating and secondary responsibilities within welding, NDT, assembly work, and material logistics.
  • Oversee adherence to technical standards and assist and support suppliers in delivering products safely, with high quality, and on time.
  • Work on secondary structures (boat landings, ladders, and similar components) for offshore wind projects at the fabrication yard in Arendonk, Belgium.
  • Plan and schedule working time around inspections during the week so a normal working time of 40 hours per week is respected.
  • Perform occasional spot checks and inspections during weekends; all extra work to be aligned and approved by the Fabrication Manager prior to taking place.
  • Take primary responsibility for coating supervision, with additional supervision and inspection work for other disciplines such as welding, NDT, assembly work, and material logistics.
  • Report to the Fabrication Manager(s) for Secondary Steel, who are based in Denmark and will visit the site as required.
  • Provide own working clothes including PPE (safety work shoes, safety helmet, safety glasses).
  • Use working clothes supplied after onboarding within a reasonable time frame.
  • Use laptop and phone provided for work purposes.
  • Maintain and apply qualifications as Coating Fabrication Inspector / Fabrication Supervisor: Frosio Level III, NACE Level 2-3, or ICORR Painting Inspector Level 3.

Requirements

  • Coating Fabrication Inspector / Fabrication Supervisor qualifications: Frosio Level III, NACE Level 2-3, or ICORR Painting Inspector Level 3 (additional qualifications for VT / NDT are a plus).
  • More than 10 years of relevant work experience in the heavy-duty or offshore industry (fabrication yards, pre-assembly, or construction sites).
  • Technically strong, adaptable, and able to work well individually and in teams, with strong communication abilities.
  • Good English skills, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Preference for candidates already living in the vicinity of the fabrication yard.
  • Personal flexibility to work around a schedule and be on site when needed, coordinated and agreed upon with the Fabrication Manager.
  • Monitor relevant activities with representatives from contractors and subcontractors and supervise inspectors from other disciplines who are involved in the site team.
  • Monitor work progress against schedule, highlight areas of concern, and propose possible corrective actions, including assisting contractors in documenting and correcting NCRs.
  • Take the lead in obtaining documentation from suppliers.
  • Assist in tests on completion, including as-built drawings and documentation.
  • Demonstrate a hardworking, honest, straightforward approach, with the ability to build good relationships with customers, co-workers, and company management.
  • Ability to interact and supervise in an internationally diverse environment.
  • Strong team player.
