Civil and Structural Drafter

Role Purpose
Produce accurate civil and structural drawings and models for Australian substation and transmission infrastructure projects. Work closely with engineers to develop coordinated, buildable deliverables in line with project drafting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise general arrangements, plans, sections, details, schedules, and reinforcement drawings.
- Develop drawings for earthworks, drainage, roads, foundations, cable trenches, buildings, and steel structures.
- Convert engineering sketches, calculations, mark-ups, and survey information into controlled deliverables.
- Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, references, and model or drawing file structures.
- Coordinate drawing interfaces with electrical, structural, geotechnical, and project teams.
- Complete self-checks and incorporate checker, client, and interdisciplinary comments accurately.
- Follow CAD, BIM, document control, and quality procedures.
- Raise missing information, clashes, and constructability concerns promptly.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate, diploma, or equivalent training in civil or structural drafting, engineering drawing, or a related field.
- One to three years of relevant experience using AutoCAD or comparable CAD software.
- Ability to read engineering mark-ups and understand plans, elevations, sections, and details.
- Strong accuracy, file discipline, and revision control.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Ability to work full time from the Kuala Lumpur office.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in substations, transmission, utilities, industrial facilities, or infrastructure.
- Exposure to Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, MicroStation, or other 3D/BIM tools.
- Understanding of reinforced concrete and structural steel detailing.
Working Environment
This is a permanent, office-based position in Kuala Lumpur. The successful candidate will work as part of an international engineering team, with most assignments supporting power infrastructure projects in Australia. Some collaboration outside standard Malaysian office hours may occasionally be required to support project meetings and deadlines.
