Organization: Confidential international renewable-energy platform

Engagement: Flexible, part-time and non-exclusive advisory appointment

Location: Flexible / international, with periodic virtual and in-person meetings

Focus: Energy transition, data centres, off-grid solutions, partnerships and innovation

The Opportunity

An established international renewable-energy platform is exploring the appointment of a small number of experienced strategic advisors to support the next phase of its growth and innovation agenda. This is not a conventional full-time executive position or a purely governance-led board appointment. It is a flexible, hands-on advisory opportunity for senior professionals who can bring market insight, relationships and practical experience to help identify, assess and shape new opportunities.

The advisor will work with senior leadership on selected strategic themes and projects, with an initial focus on emerging opportunities at the intersection of renewable energy, data centres, off-grid infrastructure and other innovative energy-transition business models.

Key Areas of Contribution

  • Growth strategy: Help identify attractive markets, sectors, technologies and scalable commercial opportunities.
  • Opportunity assessment: Provide informed challenge and practical input on new ventures, acquisitions, partnerships and joint ventures.
  • Market access: Introduce relevant industry relationships and support engagement with potential partners, customers, investors and technology providers.
  • Business-model development: Help translate early ideas into credible propositions, routes to market and partnership structures.
  • Sector intelligence: Share current insight across data centres, off-grid energy, telecoms, BESS, biomethane and adjacent energy-transition markets.
  • Strategic projects: Contribute directly to selected initiatives where the advisor’s experience can materially improve direction, execution or risk assessment.
  • Executive counsel: Act as a trusted, independent sounding board to senior leadership and participate in periodic advisory discussions.

Ideal Background

The organisation is open to advisors from different professional backgrounds and does not expect one individual to cover every area. Relevant experience may include:

  • Senior leadership, founder, investor, operator or existing advisory experience within energy transition, digital infrastructure or adjacent sectors.
  • Strong exposure to data centres, off-grid power, telecoms, renewable energy, BESS, biomethane or innovative infrastructure platforms.
  • A track record of opening new markets, developing new businesses, structuring partnerships or joint ventures, and moving opportunities from concept toward execution.
  • A commercially minded and entrepreneurial approach, supported by credible industry relationships.
  • The ability to operate across countries, cultures and stakeholder groups, with an international outlook.
  • Independent judgment, discretion and the confidence to challenge constructively at senior level.
  • What Success Could Look Like
  • A clearer view of the most attractive adjacent markets and business models for the organisation.
  • High-quality introductions and partnerships that create genuine commercial options.
  • Stronger assessment and de-risking of new ventures before significant investment or commitment.
  • Practical contribution to specific projects, rather than advice in isolation.
