Job Brief
We are currently seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control Supervisor to oversee and coordinate all instrumentation and control construction activities during the project execution phase. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all field instrumentation, control systems, cabling, and associated installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements, quality standards, and construction schedules.
Working closely with Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Commissioning, QA/QC, and contractor teams, the Instrumentation & Control Supervisor will play a key role in driving construction progress and supporting successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all Instrumentation & Control construction activities within assigned project areas.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure installation works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and project standards.
- Promote and enforce project HSE requirements, ensuring all instrumentation and control activities are conducted safely.
- Coordinate daily construction activities with contractors, engineering teams, QA/QC personnel, commissioning teams, and other discipline supervisors.
- Oversee the installation of field instruments, analyzers, transmitters, control valves, junction boxes, marshalling cabinets, control panels, and associated equipment.
- Monitor installation of instrument tubing, impulse lines, cable trays, instrument cables, fiber optic systems, and communication networks.
- Review construction drawings, loop diagrams, hook-ups, cable schedules, instrument indexes, and technical specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with quality standards and installation requirements.
- Assist in resolving technical and construction-related issues in collaboration with engineering and project teams.
- Ensure inspection and testing activities are completed in accordance with quality and project requirements.
- Support loop checking, functional testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Verify completion of punch list items and turnover documentation prior to handover.
- Monitor construction progress and contractor productivity against project schedules.
- Participate in progress meetings, toolbox talks, coordination meetings, and safety walks.
- Provide regular progress updates and reports to Construction Management.
- Ensure all project documentation is maintained in accordance with project procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager or I&C Superintendent.
Requirements and Skills
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Instrumentation & Control construction within EPC, EPCM, industrial, steel, mining, energy, petrochemical, or infrastructure projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an Instrumentation & Control Supervisor, Instrument Supervisor, or I&C Superintendent role.
- Strong knowledge of field instrumentation, control systems, DCS, PLC, SCADA, communications systems, and industrial automation.
- Experience supervising installation of instrumentation and control systems on large-scale industrial projects.
- Thorough understanding of instrument hook-ups, loop diagrams, cable schedules, P&IDs, and construction drawings.
- Experience with instrument calibration, loop checking, functional testing, and commissioning activities.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and control systems integration.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance, inspection requirements, and testing procedures.
- Experience managing multinational contractor teams in complex construction environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction reporting systems.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to work on a rotational basis in Northern Sweden.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or technical qualification in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with DCS platforms such as Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, Yokogawa, or Emerson.
- Previous experience on steel plants, battery facilities, mining operations, power generation projects, or major industrial developments.
- Experience within PMC, EPC, or EPCM project delivery environments.
- Knowledge of European standards and construction regulations.
