Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all Material, Welding, and NDE aspects of the UFR package, covering design, qualification, supply, manufacturing, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning for operation.
- Ensure overall consistency with industry best practices and compliance with code and technical standard requirements.
- Adopt and promote exemplary behavior regarding H3SE rules and Company Ethics, including the Anti-Corruption Program and Code of Conduct.
- Be informed and implement relevant Company Rules and Specifications, international norms, and standards for the Suriname package.
- Identify, implement, and manage required studies or qualification programs for UFR engineering, construction, fabrication, testing, and installation.
- Coordinate Materials, Welding & NDE studies related to design, risk analysis, QA/QC, etc.
- Define the technical scope of work, manage interfaces between contracts, produce CFT documentation, and review bidders' execution plans and schedules.
- Ensure engineering, fabrication, construction, testing, qualification, pre-commissioning, and commissioning aspects are addressed throughout all project phases by timely reviewing and validating UFR documentation from contractors.
- Supervise and approve Materials, Welding & NDE detailed design activities, and support qualification activities, especially regarding new or non-standard technologies.
- Coordinate welding and NDT expertise and audit/vet equipment and service providers for Welding & Materials procurement and construction.
- Develop, issue, and maintain technical documentation related to the Suriname UFR packages, participating in the development and maintenance of key project management documents (SOR, FDP, PEP, PQP, Risks, etc.).
- Ensure HSE&Q issues are handled in all UFR technical documentation, raising comments, and highlighting deviations or unacceptable design choices.
- Act as a technical referent and coordinate the activities of the UFR Engineering team, informing, supporting, and guiding personnel in their roles and objectives.
- Participate in project reviews as required.
- Ensure safe working practices and maintain confidentiality of UFR documentation.
- Gather lessons learnt and provide feedback, participating in project close-out activities.
Context and Environment
This position is based within the execution phase of a major project in Suriname, led by a multidisciplinary team overseeing studies for deep and shallow water offshore developments. The technical challenges include reservoir development, FPSO, and subsea production/injection system management. The Project team's objectives are to maximize economic results by optimizing reserves, schedules, costs, and minimizing GHG emissions while upholding technical quality and high H3SE standards.
Requirements
- Master's degree in engineering or equivalent.
- Strong orientation towards project-based work.
- At least 10 years of experience in studies and execution phases of large offshore oil & gas projects, with a focus on UFR equipment welding & NDE activities.
- Demonstrated multitasking skills.
- Team player with strong skills in managing internal and external project relationships.
- Ability to synthesize information and solve technical issues.
- Consistent focus on cost optimization in project activities.
- Attentive to project needs and committed to process improvement.
- Autonomous, proactive, and energetic approach.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience with similar projects would be a strong plus.
