Overview
A fast-growing infrastructure organisation is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to lead site operations for major critical facilities in Norway. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing safe, reliable and efficient operations across a technically complex environment. The position will suit an experienced operations leader with a background in data centres, critical facilities, engineering operations, industrial infrastructure, energy, utilities or another high-availability environment.
The successful candidate will lead site teams, oversee operational performance, manage maintenance and contractors, support incident response and help build strong operational processes as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations across critical technical facilities.
- Manage multidisciplinary operations teams covering electrical, mechanical, cooling and building systems.
- Ensure high standards of safety, uptime, compliance and operational performance.
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance activity.
- Lead incident response, escalation management and post-incident reviews.
- Manage contractors, vendors and specialist service providers.
- Support operational readiness for new capacity, facility upgrades and customer deployments.
- Maintain strong site processes, documentation, reporting and operational controls.
- Drive a positive safety culture, including permits, risk assessments and safe working practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and service quality.
- Work closely with engineering, projects, customers and senior leadership.
- Build, mentor and develop a capable site operations team.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong experience in operations management, engineering operations, facilities management or critical infrastructure.
- Previous experience leading technical teams in a high-availability environment.
- Good understanding of electrical, mechanical, cooling, automation and building management systems.
- Experience managing maintenance programmes, contractors and operational risk.
- Strong incident management and problem-solving capability.
- Good knowledge of HSE, compliance and site safety processes.
- Experience in data centres, mission-critical facilities, industrial plants, energy, utilities or similar environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Willingness to be based in Norway.
