Qualification, Certification and Organization
- Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Marine Engineering from a recognised Higher Learning Institution.
- Registered with Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM).
Experience
- At least five (5) years working experience as Field Engineer, four (4) years as Senior Field Engineer and three (3) years as Operations Engineer.
- Experience in various types of contract such as T&I and EPCIC.
- Experience in most offshore transportation and installation methodology and execution.
- Familiar with costing and pricing of offshore installation methodology and execution to ensure practical and economical approach.
- Familiar with offshore transportation and installation software, e.g. MOSES, SACS, Orcaflex, StaadPro, OFFPIPE, ANSYS and AutoCAD.
- Well-versed in relevant engineering industry codes such as ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, DnV, Noble Denton-GLM.
- Strong command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Main Responsibility
Plan, lead, manage, supervise, advise and assign resources for multiple projects to ensure engineering deliverables are met and oversee tender preparations for technical inputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects related to onshore construction and/or offshore installation activities.
- Be fully conversant with the Scope of Work, Contract Specifications and Requirements, Project Schedules and Material/Equipment delivery status.
- Review the lessons learned database to identify lessons that can be applied to current projects.
- Provide input to the Project Execution Plan.
- Coordinate all constructability and/or installation reviews.
- Review all technical procedures related to the project such as erection, layout, lifting, load out, sea fastening and offshore installation activities.
- Review the project plan with the project planner and assist in the preparation of subcontract packages for any work that requires outsourcing.
- Coordinate and ensure that engineering and associated drafting work is carried out by the respective operational personnel in accordance with specifications and schedule.
- Direct the detailing/drafting department on priority issues for construction and/or installation drawings and authorize the respective drawings and as-built drawings.
- Ensure that lessons are progressively input to the Lessons Learned Database throughout the project.
- Actively promote and ensure all procedures, subordinates and subcontractors comply with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that adequate engineering personnel and equipment resources are assigned to operations under supervision.
- Review and approve installation procedures and engineering to ensure they meet project minimum requirements, follow good engineering practice and enable work to be performed safely.
- Supervise Operation/Field Engineers in their planning and execution of offshore projects.
- Supervise Operation/Field Engineers during the preparation of material lists for construction materials and liaise with the Procurement Coordinator for timely procurement.
- Resolve any technical problems that arise during offshore installation and assist in any required corrective action.
- Advise design engineers on offshore operations requirements regarding installation aids, installation methods and installation criteria during the design phase and coordinate other engineering matters with respect to division requirements.
- Provide and coordinate input to the tender process as required.
