  • Responsible for annual operating cost control, fixed asset control, and overseeing annual product output

Purpose of the Position

Responsible for all Instrumentation and Process Control work to ensure assignments are designed and executed in a timely and high-quality manner. The position also supports smooth plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate under the guidance of the Instrument & Automation Maintenance Manager to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable routine and major engineering activities across multiple units within Instrumentation and Process Control scope
  • Follow all company procedures and safety rules
  • Design and/or review the best process control strategies as assigned
  • Design and/or review the best instrumentation system strategies for assigned projects
  • Create Engineering Management of Change (EMOC) documents for all required modifications
  • Prepare project estimations and selections
  • Collaborate with teams to complete Corrective Maintenance (CM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks
  • Liaise with regional platforms when needed
  • Manage manpower and labor allocation for project delivery
  • Drive improvement in Instrumentation and Process Control performance
  • Handle urgent emergency calls related to Instrumentation and Process Control issues

Key Interfaces

  • Internal:
    • Work alongside Safety, Health, Environment & Quality departments to promote safety awareness, including PPE, permit systems, group meetings, safety inspections, and loss control programs
    • Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance sections, and other Engineers to ensure cohesive teamwork and timely delivery of high-quality work
  • External:
    • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, contractors, and equipment manufacturers to ensure compliance with technical specifications
    • Liaise with manpower providers to ensure timely procurement of required labor

Key Skills

  • Expertise in Maintenance Programs, FMEA, RCA, and CMMS or SAP PM systems
  • Ability to interpret P&ID and instrumentation wiring or loop diagrams
  • Install and calibrate field instruments such as Pressure, Temperature, Analyzer, and Vibration Protection devices
  • Repair and calibrate control valves, positioners, and actuators
  • Program DCS PCS7, PLC AB, Omron, and TIA Portal platforms
  • Conduct instrumentation and process calculations using relevant software
  • Produce technical drawings with CAD or similar software
  • Lead instrumentation teams in operational, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  • Structured, well-organized, and familiar with standard instrumentation and control system tools

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in an industrial environment with PLC systems, DCS, field device instrumentation, process analyzer devices, and computer networks
  • Practical skills in conducting Hazard Analysis and Operability Study (HAZOPS), risk assessment, loss prevention, and Root Cause Analysis
  • Thorough knowledge of Instrumentation and Process Control principles
  • Familiarity with best practice design, operations, and global safety standards in a multinational group context
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Office, Project, and CMMS or related application tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English
