Quality Specialist (Assurance)

Job Purpose
The Quality Specialist - Assurance plays a key role in supporting the effective implementation of the Project Quality Management System, ensuring alignment with corporate quality requirements and overall project expectations. The position provides quality assurance support and leadership across quality surveillance, NCR/deficiency management, audits, quality reporting, orientation and training, continuous improvement, and flawless execution initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of the Project Quality Plan and provide oversight of the EPC Contractor's Project Quality Management System and procedures.
- Verify effective implementation of Engineering, Procurement and Construction quality systems and procedures in accordance with approved QMS requirements.
- Support implementation of Procurement and Construction Quality Surveillance Programs in line with the approved surveillance strategy.
- Manage deficiencies and NCRs, ensuring non-conformances are properly identified, recorded, investigated, resolved and closed.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and structured problem-solving activities using appropriate quality tools.
- Monitor quality performance and report significant quality issues, risks and emerging trends to project quality management.
- Support implementation and coordination of Company and Contractor Project Audit Programs, including maintenance of the Audit Universe.
- Coordinate and maintain records for project-specific quality orientation and training.
- Monitor established Quality KPIs and assess contractor quality performance against contractual requirements.
- Support preparation for project Gate Reviews and development of quality reports.
- Manage project lessons learned activities and oversee contractor capture and implementation of relevant lessons learned.
- Interface closely with Quality, Engineering and Procurement teams, EPC Contractors, fabrication subcontractors, vendors and sub-vendors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Sciences.
- Additional qualifications/certifications related to Quality, Welding and/or NDE Inspection.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of Quality experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Experience working with Oil & Gas companies, EPC Contractors and/or service companies.
- Good knowledge of relevant industry standards.
- Demonstrated ability to support or manage Quality Management Systems within the Oil & Gas industry.
