Quality Lead (Vendor)

Job Purpose
Responsible for implementing the Project Quality Management program and providing oversight of the EPC Contractor's Quality Management System, with particular focus on procurement and vendor quality. The role ensures purchased materials and equipment comply with project specifications, applicable procedures, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the Project Quality Plan and oversee the EPC Contractor's quality management processes relating to purchased materials and equipment.
- Implement and manage the Procurement Quality Surveillance Program as part of the project's overall risk-management approach.
- Coordinate and administer Third-Party Inspection (TPI) and Site Inspection Services, ensuring appropriate inspection resources are assigned to vendors and manufacturers.
- Monitor and assess inspector performance and provide increased surveillance at critical equipment manufacturers/vendor facilities where required.
- Manage deficiencies and NCRs, ensuring non-conformances are properly identified, investigated, recorded, resolved and closed.
- Monitor procurement quality performance and provide regular reporting on quality issues, risks, trends and overall performance.
- Participate in the Project Quality Audit Program, including assessments of EPC Contractor purchasing and subcontracting activities.
- Maintain close coordination with Quality, Engineering, Procurement, EPC Contractors, vendors, sub-vendors and fabrication subcontractors.
- Support other project quality activities as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Sciences.
- Additional qualifications/certifications related to Quality, Welding and/or NDE Inspection are required.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of Quality experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience, including acting supervisory roles or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
- Experience working with Oil & Gas operators, EPC Contractors and/or service companies.
- Good knowledge of relevant Oil & Gas industry codes and standards.
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems applicable to major Oil & Gas projects.
- Experience in vendor/procurement quality, inspection surveillance, contractor oversight and quality auditing is highly relevant to the position.
