Electrical Technician
Location: GlasgowContract Type: Permanent
Salary: £40,000 + Call Out + Pension
Working Hours: 7 am - 4 pm
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, fault-find, and install electrical components and instrumentation.
- Maintain and test instrumentation such as gauges, flow meters, level indicators, and control valves.
- Deliver electrical installation, testing, and inspection work with a focus on safety and reliability.
- Maintain motors, lighting, fire systems, and other critical electrical plant.
- Oversee contractor electrical work and commission newly purchased equipment.
- Keep accurate records of installations, repairs, and safety inspections.
- Manage safe systems of work through contractor control and permit processes.
- Support engineering projects, acting as project lead or technical support on change management.
- Service site process equipment, including pumps and actuator valves.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in efficiency, energy use, and workplace standards.
Requirements
- Time-served apprentice with NVQ, BTEC, or ONC qualification.
- Maintenance experience in a process plant environment.
- Confident diagnosing and repairing electrical and instrumentation faults.
- Proficient keyboard skills and general computer literacy.
- Works with integrity and demonstrates inclusive, collaborative behaviour.
