Qualifications

  • B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A valid CSWIP 3.2 or AWS Senior Welding Inspection Certificate (CWI), BGAS-CSWIP Grade 1 or NACE Level II qualified and at least two years of post-certification experience.
  • NDT Level II in RT and UT at least, or NDT qualifications in the relevant methods as per applicable standards.
  • Certified QMS Lead Auditor in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and at least two years of post-training experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years experience as a QA/QC engineer or client representative, leading QC multidiscipline inspectors' teams for inspection and testing activities in oil and gas offshore process platforms or subsea pipeline, including all phases of manufacturing, fabrication, construction, and offshore installation or laying.
  • Experience and knowledge related to offshore processes such as sour services, cladded piping, CRA pipelines, welding, NDT, repair works, painting, coating, internal lining, Monel sheathing, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all works undertaken by contractors, subcontractors, vendors, manufacturers, and service providers comply with project specifications, local and international standards, and contract QA/QC requirements.
  • Ensure that approved project QA/QC documents are properly implemented at work sites, including quality plans, control procedures, control plans, ITPs, and inspection checklists.
  • Lead and maintain teamwork among QC inspectors at fabrication sites, construction sites, and offshore installation quality control activities in cooperation with all involved parties.
  • Monitor the implementation of approved quality requirements by the main contractor or vendor and address deficiencies. Control the daily quality of main TPI, contractor, or vendor inspection personnel activities.
  • Act as the focal point for the resolution of shop or site-related quality control issues in consultation with the project's senior quality engineer.
  • Control and follow up on technical deviations, material substitutions, and changes to inspection and test requirements at shops, sites, or installations.
  • Control and follow up on non-conformance reports, ensuring the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure that contractors or vendors prepare and manage proper inspection and test records, compile test packs and dossiers for project submission.
  • Report status on all the above responsibilities on a daily basis to the senior quality engineer.
