Project Director - Offshore EPCIC and T&I Projects

Location: Malaysia

Employment Type: 2-Year Contract

About the Opportunity

A leading offshore energy and engineering organization is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of major offshore EPCIC and Transportation and Installation projects within deepwater environments.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing complex offshore project execution from tendering and planning through offshore installation and project completion. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction across project delivery, commercial performance, stakeholder management, resource planning and HSSE compliance while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all phases of offshore EPCIC and T&I project execution in deepwater environments
  • Ensure projects are executed safely and in accordance with contractual, technical and company requirements
  • Participate in preparation of commercial and technical proposals during tender stages
  • Develop project execution budgets, cost controls and mitigation plans for potential overruns
  • Review project scope, deliverables and execution requirements to ensure successful project delivery
  • Establish project execution strategies, schedules and risk mitigation plans
  • Monitor project progress to minimize delays, operational inefficiencies and standby risks
  • Lead project readiness reviews prior to execution activities
  • Manage client communications, technical clarifications and project issue resolution
  • Coordinate internal and external project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead project meetings with management teams, contractors and clients
  • Oversee allocation and management of project resources across engineering, procurement, fabrication and offshore execution activities
  • Support and mentor project teams to maintain strong operational and performance standards
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously where required

Requirements

  • Degree qualification in Civil, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Professional engineering registration or equivalent certification preferred
  • Minimum 25 years of experience within the oil and gas industry
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior project leadership or project director level position
  • Strong experience in offshore EPCIC and Transportation and Installation project execution
  • Experience managing deepwater offshore developments and complex marine operations
  • Strong knowledge of project governance, contract management and project controls
  • Experience in project cost management, procurement, subcontract management and schedule control
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams
  • Strong understanding of project risk management and change management processes
