Process Engineering Specialist

Job Purpose
Provide specialist Process Engineering support throughout the EPC, commissioning and start-up phases of major oil & gas/LNG projects through to handover to the permanent operating asset. Ensure project deliverables meet operational expectations relating to safety, operability, reliability and maintainability throughout the facility lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Process Engineering expertise and participate in RCFA, HAZOP, HAZID, FRA, SIL verification, process safety and reliability reviews.
- Support development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new projects.
- Develop and implement process surveillance and monitoring tools to support safe, reliable and optimized production.
- Troubleshoot process issues, develop engineering recommendations and ensure timely escalation of operational threats or deviations.
- Participate in System Completion activities, including pre-commissioning/start-up walkdowns and witnessing activities such as chemical and catalyst loading.
- Identify, track and resolve critical technical issues and new-technology risks that may affect reliability, availability and cyber security.
- Provide specialist technical input and support to other engineering disciplines and project functions.
- Support completion and coordination of project tie-ins for systems within the assigned area.
- Support high-risk and complex commissioning activities, including system surveillance, process/system tuning and optimization.
- Provide technical advisory support to Operations and Maintenance during commissioning and start-up.
Key Project Interfaces
Work closely with Project Management, Operations, Engineering, HSE/Quality teams, EPC contractors, vendors, suppliers, engineering consultants and external technical specialists. The position requires the ability to influence project decisions by considering both CAPEX and long-term OPEX, while ensuring designs and operating procedures meet applicable standards and project requirements.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering - mandatory
- Minimum 8 years' experience in an Oil & Gas environment
- Strong Process Engineering knowledge relevant to major oil & gas/LNG facilities
- Experience supporting EPC, commissioning and/or start-up activities
- Ability to operate and make sound technical decisions under high-pressure conditions
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and people-management skills
- Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and SAP
