Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Principal Pipeline Engineer to join a high-performing offshore engineering team supporting major deepwater SURF developments. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across subsea pipeline engineering activities from concept through detailed engineering, supporting challenging EPCIC projects worldwide.
This role is ideal for candidates with extensive experience in deepwater pipeline design and engineering, gained with major offshore engineering contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead subsea pipeline engineering activities for deepwater SURF projects.
- Perform pipeline design, routing and engineering calculations in accordance with international standards.
- Develop pipeline wall thickness, on-bottom stability, free span, expansion and lateral buckling assessments.
- Prepare and review engineering deliverables, specifications and design reports.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including subsea, riser, installation and structural disciplines.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and support design reviews with clients.
- Ensure engineering activities comply with project specifications, HSE requirements and industry codes.
- Support offshore installation engineering and construction activities where required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Ocean, Offshore or related Engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience in offshore pipeline engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proven experience delivering deepwater SURF projects.
- Strong knowledge of offshore pipeline design codes including DNV standards.
- Experience performing:
- Pipeline design
- On-bottom stability
- Lateral buckling
- Pipeline walking
- Expansion analysis
- Experience using engineering software such as:
- SAGE
- Abaqus
- DNV software
- Previous experience working with major EPCIC contractors is highly preferred.
- Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
