Job Purpose

Manage construction site constraints and resolve construction interfaces. Participate in risk assessments, maintain communication with project stakeholders and contractors, prepare post job reports, and stay updated on project schedules and technical requirements.

The candidate must have experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, or infrastructure industries, and have construction engineering experience on large to mega projects. Responsibilities include leading, planning, coordinating, and directing construction work and subcontractors to meet all construction milestone dates, ensuring compliance to standards and specifications. Prepare and enforce construction plans to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and performance to meet project objectives.

Project Scope of Work

The Master Gas Expansion PhIII (MGSIII) program is designed to efficiently meet regional energy demand. MGSIII provides for the installation of new booster gas compression stations at existing facilities and adds additional compression trains at multiple stations. The project includes installation of 56-inch pipelines totaling 1,650 kilometers along a major pipeline corridor and 56-inch pipelines totaling 1,100 kilometers connecting key stations. Additional pipeline connections to industrial customers throughout the region are also included.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct constructability and feasibility reviews during the design phase.
  • Work on the construction schedule and verify construction progress.
  • Participate in key design reviews.
  • Review construction procedures submitted by the EPC contractor, including method statements, hydro test packages, lifting procedures, and more.
  • Assist the project team in building and maintaining a professional, constructive relationship with the EPC contractor to manage site construction scope changes efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure daily record keeping, monitoring, and communication of all general construction activities in a systematic, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Participate in inspection exercises to assess construction work compliance with quality, HSE, and contractual requirements.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise in area of responsibility.
  • Report status, achievements, challenges, and plans of action to the Senior/Lead Project Engineer on a timely basis.
  • Review pre-commissioning procedures and participate in all related activities.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum 10 - 15 years of related work experience
  • Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of construction practices, economic principles, international codes and standards, processes, and specifications
  • Language: Good knowledge of English, both written and verbal
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills; advanced computer skills with MS-Office
