Planning Specialist

Location: Qatar Onshore - Doha
Contract Type: 36 months

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain effective communication with project teams and departments to resolve issues, demonstrating initiative, flexibility, and the ability to influence in order to effectively plan and execute project activities.
  • Ensure faultless schedule planning and delivery using multi-range schedule and planning software suites; collect schedule and cost data from projects within the Major Projects portfolio, develop, maintain, and monitor delivery of integrated schedules and planning tools.
  • Conduct schedule risk analysis in Primavera and integrate multiple EPC Project Level 4 and 3 schedules, producing management level 1 and 0 schedules in Primavera P6 with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and speed.
  • Deliver clear presentations articulating schedule and cost delivery, forecasts, progress, deficits, and proposed mitigations; develop timely and concise reporting on governance activities and compliance to ensure effective management and timely escalation of concerns.
  • Quantify effects and impacts associated with business changes in the overall schedule for stewardship purposes.
  • Inform the Integration Project Management Team of any potential schedule issues and impacts; provide guidance, corrective action, and measures to mitigate adverse trends.
  • Review and check EPC Contractor's progress reports for measurement accuracy; review and endorse schedule and progress baseline and forecast proposed by projects; analyze schedule and progress trends reported by projects.
  • Support the Integration Project Management Team with project schedule and cost progress analysis, reporting, and forecasting activities; periodically update schedules to incorporate changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of project execution-related experience, with at least 6 years in a major projects environment within the oil and gas industry or similar industry experience in a business support/reporting capacity with significant knowledge of large projects.
  • Proven ability to proactively resolve issues by developing effective solutions independently.
  • Experience working with National Oil Companies or International Oil Companies is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience conducting schedule risk analysis in Primavera and integrating multiple EPC project schedules.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Exceptional computer literacy skills, including Primavera P6 (Version 22 and above), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Power BI (desirable).
