Logistics Manager
Location: SwedenContract Type: Contract Position
Working Pattern: 3 Week Rotation
- Week 1: Early morning flight to arrive on site no later than noon on Monday. (Monday 12pm - 4pm & Tuesday - Saturday 7am - 4pm)
- Week 2: Monday to Saturday (Monday - Saturday 7am - 4pm)
- Week 3: Monday to Wednesday (Monday - Tuesday 7am - 4pm & Wednesday 7am - 11:30am). Travel home Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday off.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all site logistics operations from mobilisation through to project completion.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies and site logistics plans aligned with project requirements.
- Coordinate deliveries, material handling, plant movements, and storage to optimise site efficiency.
- Manage site access control, traffic management, and logistics routing to minimise disruption and maintain safe working conditions.
- Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders to ensure logistics activities support construction programmes.
- Monitor storage compounds and laydown areas, ensuring materials are safely stored, protected, and readily accessible.
- Oversee logistics contractors and support services, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain accurate logistics records, permits, documentation, and reporting systems.
- Attend coordination, planning, and progress meetings, providing logistics updates and identifying potential risks.
- Proactively identify and mitigate logistics challenges including congestion, delivery delays, storage limitations, and access constraints.
- Support the implementation of high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and housekeeping across the project.
- Produce regular logistics reports and progress updates for project leadership teams.
- Ensure all logistics activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures and statutory regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site efficiency and operational performance.
Requirements
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing logistics on large-scale construction, industrial, infrastructure, or engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of material management, traffic management, warehousing, and site coordination practices.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities within fast-paced project environments.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements relating to logistics operations.
- Experience on complex or mission-critical projects is advantageous but not essential.
- Proficiency in project reporting and logistics management systems.
