Overview
An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Fabrication Supervisor to lead daily operations within a busy fabrication facility supporting the energy sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising fabrication activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity while leading and developing a skilled fabrication workforce. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge and experience in heavy fabrication or manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day fabrication shop operations to ensure safety, quality, and production targets are achieved.

Lead and coordinate the work of welders, fitters, and fabrication personnel.

Review blueprints, P&IDs, technical drawings, specifications, and job orders to determine work assignments and material requirements.

Ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable safety and quality standards, including OSHA, API, and ASME requirements.

Monitor production schedules and adjust work activities to meet project deadlines.

Train, mentor, and evaluate fabrication personnel to support workforce development.

Work closely with Quality Control and Engineering teams to resolve non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions.

Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and labour tracking documentation.

Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

Support workforce planning, recruitment, employee development, and disciplinary processes where required.
Requirements

Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience within fabrication, pipe manufacturing, or heavy industrial manufacturing.

Strong knowledge of fabrication processes including:

Fitting
-
Welding (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW)

Cutting
-
Finishing
-

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and engineering drawings.

Strong understanding of fabrication tolerances and quality requirements.

Knowledge of OSHA regulations and API and ASME standards.

Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

High school diploma or GED required.

Technical certification or Associate Degree is advantageous.

Regular supervision of shop floor activities.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots.
