Location: Southern France
Contract Type: Annually Renewable Contract
Work Schedule: Rotational - 6 weeks on site, 1 week working remotely OR 8 weeks on site, 2 weeks working remotely; 8 hour days, 5 days per week

Role Overview

An experienced Drafter / CAD Designer is required to support site engineering and construction activities on a major heavy-industrial project. The successful candidate will be highly proficient in AutoCAD and Smart 3D (SP3D), supporting the production, modification, and coordination of technical drawings and 3D models throughout the construction phase. This is a site-based position, working closely with engineering, construction, and other technical disciplines in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and update general arrangement and layout drawings.
  • Prepare construction and installation drawings.
  • Develop equipment and facility layouts.
  • Produce structural, mechanical, and piping drawings.
  • Prepare sections, elevations, and detailed drawings.
  • Develop and update 2D drawings and 3D models.
  • Update red-line drawings and as-built documentation.
  • Produce drawings based on field measurements and actual site conditions.
  • Carry out site surveys and collect field measurements as required.
  • Update and maintain the Smart 3D model.
  • Identify potential clashes and drawing inconsistencies.
  • Coordinate drawing interfaces with engineering, construction, and other disciplines.
  • Support site engineering and construction teams with drawing revisions and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Smart 3D / SP3D.
  • Previous experience as a Drafter, CAD Designer, Plant Designer, Piping Designer, or similar.
  • Experience producing technical drawings for industrial construction projects.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and site information.
  • Experience working with 2D drawings and 3D plant models.
  • Ability to work independently in a site-based environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and technical drawing capability.
  • Availability to work on a rotational assignment in Southern France.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within steel plants, process plants, heavy industrial facilities, energy projects, petrochemical facilities, or large-scale EPC/industrial construction projects.
  • Rotational basis: 6 weeks on / 1 week off, or 8 weeks on / 2 weeks off.
  • Flights, accommodation, and local travel are covered.
  • Immediate availability is preferred.
