Job Summary
The Construction Superintendent is an experienced people manager with civil, electrical, and structural expertise, preferably in the solar industry. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day operations at the construction site(s), coordinating subcontractors, leading safety practices, and ensuring quality assurance throughout the project duration. Effective communication and time management are essential for balancing workflow and maintaining progress on project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily activities of sub-contractors
- Host daily POD meetings with contractors
- Enforce OSHA and industry best safety practices on site
- Record weekly toolbox talks and daily job hazard analysis
- Maintain daily logs, capture photos, handle RFIs, observations, punch lists, weekly meeting minutes, three-week look aheads, deliveries, quantities, and manpower tracking using construction management tools
- Receive deliveries and maintain records of all bills of lading
- Conduct mock-up, daily, and milestone inspections
- Host weekly progress meetings with all stakeholders and distribute meeting minutes
- Perform weekly and rain event SWPPP inspections
- Work closely with internal and external teams to ensure project quality standards are met
- Collaborate with senior superintendents and project management to maintain schedules and uphold quality
- Lead by example and enforce company and regulatory safety policies; address non-compliance among all employees, contractors, and vendors
- Share experience and best practices for continuous project improvement
- Assist with design support in Geo-Tech and Push/Pull Testing
- Support pre-construction activities such as site surveys and utility walks
- Interact effectively with contractors, consultants, and project managers

Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma required
- Experience: Four years of construction supervisory experience with a successful track record in project supervision
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Project, and various construction management tools
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards; OSHA 10 and/or 30 Certification
- First Aid CPR Certification
- SWPPP Certification
- Experience with construction management software is a plus
- Understanding of medium voltage systems and equipment is a plus
- Strong eye for detail and clear communication skills
- Willingness to travel
- Valid and current Driver's License
Work Environment
- Field-based role with extensive walking
- Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs
- Daily travel required with occasional overnights
Preferred Education
- 4-year college degree in a relevant discipline preferred
Preferred Experience
- Prior management/construction experience (5 years)
- Experience in solar industry construction is a bonus
