Job Overview

The Well Performance Engineer will play a key role in optimizing well and ESP (Electric Submersible Pump) operations to maximize production and ensure well integrity. The position is based in Doha with occasional site visits and requires close collaboration with various technical teams and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the safe operation of the field and participate in HSE activities such as training, audits, reporting anomalies, and workshops.
  • Ensure full compliance with ethical standards, local HSE regulations, and company procedures.
  • Define and monitor well and ESP parameters, ensuring continuous operation within manufacturer-recommended envelopes.
  • Monitor well and ESP operating parameters using relevant systems and follow up on actions and operations.
  • Coordinate and support well-related troubleshooting, both during operation and shutdown, in collaboration with suppliers and technical teams.
  • Update and validate well test results and maintain accurate records in relevant databases.
  • Lead and participate in regular meetings, including monthly and weekly follow-ups, and prepare reports on well potential and activities.
  • Prepare and follow up on ESP tests, preventive maintenance, and well integrity activities.
  • Assist with daily shortfall analyses and production forecasting.
  • Manage operational programs, including personnel and equipment mobilization.
  • Maintain and update the well performance toolkit and ensure proper documentation storage.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external suppliers, and be available outside normal working hours to address urgent well issues.

Accountabilities

  • Continuous optimization of ESP and well operating parameters to maximize production.
  • Ensuring maximum run life of ESPs by maintaining operation within correct parameters.
  • Ensuring wells produce in accordance with integrity standards.
  • Minimizing operational expenditure through ongoing review and optimization of well operations.

Requirements

  • BSc in Petroleum Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 1 year in well operations.
  • Basic technical skills in well operations, ESPs, well modelling, and production optimization.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Fluent in English.
