Project Context

Following recent developments at site and the increasing demand for welding inspections, piping quality control, test package verification, and quality documentation, we are currently looking for an experienced Welding Inspector / Piping Quality Inspector to join the project team on site.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven site experience of at least 15 years in industrial plant construction projects, particularly in:
    • Piping fabrication and erection
    • Equipment and structural welding inspections
    • Piping installation and quality control
    • Mechanical completion activities
    • Test package preparation and verification
    • Pressure testing and flushing activities
  • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards related to:
    • Welding inspection and quality control
    • Piping fabrication and erection
    • Pressure testing and commissioning activities
    • Industrial plant construction practices
  • Must hold at least one of the following valid certifications:
    • IWE/EWE (International / European Welding Engineer)
    • IWT/EWT (International / European Welding Technologist)
    • CSWIP Welding Inspector Certification
  • Additional qualifications and experience in NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) would be an advantage.
  • Capable of carrying out inspections independently and ensuring compliance before requesting inspections with Client or third-party representatives.

Documentation & Quality Control Requirements

  • Review and management of piping quality documentation, including but not limited to:
    • Piping General Arrangement Drawings
    • Piping Support Drawings
    • Isometric Drawings
    • P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams)
    • Weld Maps
    • Spool Tracking Systems
    • Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
    • QA/QC Inspection Reports
    • Pressure Test Packages
    • Flushing and Cleaning Documentation
    • Punch List Management
    • Mechanical Completion Documentation

Software Requirements

  • Good working knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Electronic document management systems
    • Quality management software
    • Ability to navigate and review project 3D models

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding inspections during fabrication and erection activities.
  • Verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and inspection records.
  • Conduct visual inspections of piping systems and welded joints.
  • Monitor piping installation activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
  • Review and manage NDT reports and inspection records.
  • Witness hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests.
  • Verify test package completion and turnover documentation.
  • Monitor punch list close-out activities.
  • Prepare inspection reports and QA/QC documentation.
  • Coordinate with construction, commissioning, Client, and third-party inspection teams.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project quality requirements and HSE procedures.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant site experience in industrial plant construction projects.
  • Valid IWE/EWE, IWT/EWT, or CSWIP certification.
  • Strong experience in piping erection, welding inspections, and pressure testing activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret piping drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and quality documentation.
  • Good level of English proficiency.
  • EU nationality or existing valid Swedish residency/work permit.
  • Available for immediate mobilisation.
  • Required period: Immediate start until approximately mid/end October 2026, with the possibility of extension.
