Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
- Master's Degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Structural Design & Construction on large buildings and civil or infrastructure projects, including at least 6 years at Supervisory level.
- Excellent knowledge of engineering and structural design.
- Professional Engineer registration with an internationally recognized Professional Engineering Institution is an advantage.
- Previous experience in water retaining structures and dewatering preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction activities and project management.
- Familiarity with international and local standards such as BS, EN, ASTM, QCS.
- Experience in projects involving pre-commissioning, commissioning, and hand-over activities.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Computer literacy in mainstream MS Office products and structural design software.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and engineering services in civil/structural disciplines for assigned projects and ad-hoc needs, ensuring technical quality, safety, schedule, and cost objectives are met.
- Carry out civil/structural engineering activities through all stages of assigned projects.
- Review and evaluate all project drawings and documentation, including civil, structural, specifications, calculations, and proposed materials, ensuring compliance with the project scope, applicable standards, and specifications.
- Participate in and provide assistance for pre-commissioning, commissioning, and hand-over activities.
- Review contract changes or variations in accordance with approved guidelines, codes, and standards, recommending approvals or rejections of technical deviations.
- Review and approve method statements from contractors for scope compliance. Liaise with contractors to resolve technical issues.
- Lead and support technical teams, assisting senior engineers with all technical matters on assigned projects.
- Coordinate with registered consultants responsible for construction management and supervision as required.
- Evaluate technical bid packages for compliance with project scope.
- Plan and coordinate activities of multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver technical services on time according to project requirements.
- Coordinate engineering designs, develop and review multi-disciplinary scopes of work, ensuring clarity and comprehensiveness.
- Mentor and support the development of technical competency for colleagues, including structured training for associates.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a multi-discipline and multi-cultural environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to civil/structural engineering and intersecting disciplines.
