Job Title: Technical Writer
Working Location: Puchong, Selangor (Remote possible)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including data sheets, user guides, installation manuals, and system specifications, and contribute to training material development.
- Document software features, workflows, APIs, and integration processes from the base level.
- Create detailed hardware operation manuals, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaborate with engineers, developers, and product managers to gather and validate technical information.
- Translate complex technical concepts into accessible content for diverse audiences.
- Ensure documentation meets industry standards and internal style guides.
- Manage version control and updates in alignment with product releases.
- Work independently in a remote environment while consistently meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
Requirements:
- Possess a recognized degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification, or relevant trade qualification.
- Exceptional English writing and editing skills, with a focus on clarity and precision.
- Previous experience documenting Building Management Systems BMS.
- Experience creating documentation for software applications, including user interfaces and APIs, as well as marketing material development.
- Proven ability to produce detailed hardware operation manuals.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work remotely and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- High proficiency in documentation tools such as Adobe products, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Visio (mandatory).
- Experience building documentation standards with reference to ISO 9001 compliance.
- Familiarity with version control systems and content management platforms.
Nice to Have:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated experience engineering, commissioning, or servicing BMS installations.
- Knowledge of BMS protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, or the Niagara Framework.
- Experience with HTML, XML, or Markdown for web-based documentation.
- Familiarity with Agile development environments.
- Understanding of industry relevant regulatory standards.
