Job Title:
Senior Instrument Engineer
Qualification:
* Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering
* Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable
Experience:
* 10 years relevant post graduate experience, with at least 6 years in the Oil & Gas industry
* Ability to identify and utilise relevant engineering standards and codes related to Instrumentation Engineering
* Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment
* Strong communication and presentation skills with fluency in English
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical design and engineering services in Instrumentation Engineering for assigned engineering projects, ensuring technical quality of work in accordance with company procedures, while considering quality, schedule, cost and HSE
* Conduct Instrumentation Engineering activities and in-house site surveys from initial concept definition through engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning
* Ensure that company technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in work scopes and during Instrumentation Engineering activities
* Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices
* Support the Engineering Department to review, update and apply company standards and amendments to external standards
* Plan and co-ordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers to provide timely delivery of technical services to meet project requirements
* Co-ordinate engineering designs, and develop and review multi-disciplinary work scopes for projects and other engineering activities, ensuring that the work scope is comprehensive and clear
* Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance, and liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues
* Develop, update and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, and contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities and effective project delivery
* Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance
* Review and evaluate contract changes/variations to approved guidelines and practices
* Support the development of personal technical competency and skills and those of co-workers
* Participate in structured training for Associate Qatari Engineers
