Site Engineer - Mechanical (Fire Fighting & Plumbing)

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree: Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.

Experience

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in mechanical site execution for commercial, residential, industrial, or mixed-use projects.
  • GCC / UAE site experience is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems installation.

Computer Software Proficiency

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD for reviewing mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with project documentation tools is an advantage.

Registrations / Certifications

  • UAE Society of Engineers (SOE) Membership.
  • Basic HSE training certification (advantage).
  • Awareness of ISO 9001:2015 quality procedures (preferable).
  • UAE driving license (preferred).

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor installation of firefighting and plumbing systems as per approved shop drawings, project specifications, and UAE authority requirements.
  • Manage daily site activities including manpower allocation, work sequencing, and progress monitoring.
  • Review drawings, specifications, method statements, and material submittals prior to execution.
  • Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and other disciplines to resolve site coordination issues.
  • Supervise installation of sprinkler systems, hose reels, pumps, water supply, drainage, sewage, storm water, and associated piping systems.
  • Ensure all works comply with DCD, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, project specifications, and applicable standards such as NFPA and BS standards.
  • Verify delivered materials against approved submittals and specifications.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspections, testing, and consultant approvals.
  • Prepare Inspection Requests (IR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR), and progress reports.
  • Supervise testing and commissioning activities including hydrostatic testing, flushing, and functional testing.
  • Identify design and constructability issues and raise RFIs when required.
  • Monitor site productivity and ensure activities are completed within planned schedules.
  • Ensure implementation of quality procedures and HSE requirements at site.
  • Review as-built drawings and maintain records of site activities and project documentation.
  • Report progress, technical issues, and resource requirements to the Project Manager or Senior Mechanical Engineer.
