Primary Purpose
Manage reservoir surveillance activities to support the development of the operated block and keep senior management informed on reservoir development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate reservoir studies to evaluate reservoir performance, including petrophysical parameters, fluids, and production models, using both in-house and consultant resources. Review studies and tests to determine well performance parameters and reservoir characteristics.
- Manage the identification and implementation of appropriate equipment, techniques, methods, practices, and computer simulation models to enhance understanding of well and reservoir behaviour. Ensure technology compatibility with the local environment.
- Prepare, in conjunction with Operations, long-term development and reservoir/data management programs as part of annual and five-year work plans. Set and agree on operational targets for gas volumes and well-by-well rate specifications, and advise on foreseeable issues.
- Collaborate with the Manager Reservoir Simulation to plan and coordinate data gathering programs for each well.
- Oversee data management strategy and activities, ensuring functional excellence of E&P data. Develop and propose corporate policies for the shared master database, and provide stewardship for data ownership and custodian responsibilities.
- Review progress against agreed work plans, prepare contingency plans, and recommend or initiate changes based on findings.
- Advise on reservoir data management and technical computing strategy for the department.
- Interact with shareholders on reservoir performance issues to meet corporate objectives.
- Ensure effective liaison and consultation with the Well Services team by providing technical input during well intervention operations and reviews.
- Supervise and review analysis of production performance data, track trends and patterns, and interpret data. Ensure evaluation of production log analyses and recommend appropriate actions.
- Supervise and evaluate past, present, and future reservoir performance, advising management on reservoir status.
- Manage implementation of reservoir surveillance activities in line with best practices and provide guidelines for optimal production from wells.
- Supervise invitations to tender and contract issuance for consultants, contractors, and service companies. Review and recommend consultant selection, coordinate activities, evaluate performance, and monitor payments as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by senior management.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in reservoir surveillance, including recent managerial experience.
