Job Purpose
Execute and support inspection activities during EPC and Startup phase until handover to permanent Asset to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the new facilities by early defect detection in accordance with established policies, procedures, instructions, and targets.
Qualifications
- Education: HND in Engineering.
- Experience: 4 years of in-service inspection experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out external visual examinations complemented with NDT examination as required on equipment such as vessels, boilers, heat exchangers, pressure safety devices, piping, lifting equipment according to established policies and procedures and issue inspection reports.
- Perform preliminary integrity assessments of static equipment and piping, interpret findings, and issue inspection reports using relevant software tools.
- Inspect maintenance and capital project works to ensure compliance with established practices for welding, painting, fabrication, and installation as per policy and in line with applicable international codes and standards.
- Conduct or supervise NDT tests on mechanical equipment and piping as instructed. Tests may include dye penetrant examination, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, hardness tests, eddy current, IRIS, thermography, PMI, Metallography, boroscopy, and others. Ensure all required safety procedures are followed during work.
- Initiate inspection recommendations and track progress to completion to ensure mitigation of potential risks.
- Maintain inspection instruments, tools, and equipment in good operational condition. Coordinate planning and procurement of additional instruments as necessary.
- Undertake specific inspection-related duties as directed to fulfill annual targets and special tasks.
- Ensure proper maintenance of inspection reports and records. Update computerized systems with inspection test results and data as required. Implement inspection recommendations and track completion of related notifications through SAP.
- Coordinate and supervise contractor resources as required to ensure compliance with company requirements and service quality.
Requirements
- Fluent in English language, both verbal and written.
- Computer literate, proficient in MS Word and Excel, and knowledgeable in relevant software tools and specifications.
- Experience with Meridium or similar Data Management Software.
- Awareness in risk-based inspection, corrosion/corrosion control, and damage mechanisms.
- Basic understanding of relevant plant processes and materials.
- Knowledge in the following inspection technologies: UT, MT, PT, RT, and Advanced NDT.
- Familiarity with relevant international codes and specifications.
- Holds certification in API 510/570 or equivalent, API 653 as required.
