Job Purpose
Maintain Operator Training Simulators by addressing system issues, performing periodic system health checks, conducting system backups, and updating simulator models as per plant management of changes. Design and implement new simulator troubleshooting training scenarios. Contribute extensively to Operator Training Simulator projects with a high degree of independence.
Key Responsibilities

Software Maintenance of Simulator Models:
- Troubleshoot and fix simulator issues during training sessions.
- Perform periodic system backups and conduct hardware/software health checks.
- Liaise with Centre of Expertise and Maintenance teams to address hardware/software failures in simulator models.
- Manage antivirus updates.
- Design and implement new simulator troubleshooting training scenarios in coordination with Operations and Instructors.
- Manage the implementation of management of change in training simulator models.

Project Contributions for New Operator Training Simulators:
- Provide expertise in preliminary analysis and design.
- Assist in developing and reviewing Statements of Work or scopes for new simulator models.
- Address technical clarifications from vendors during project bidding phases.
- Define detailed technical requirements during vendor project kick-off meetings.
- Review and approve simulator deliverables by participating in system acceptance tests (Model Acceptance/Validation Test, Factory Acceptance Test, Site Acceptance Test) and project documentation reviews.
- Liaise with Centre of Expertise and Maintenance teams to manage simulator spares.
- Work with Obsolescence Management teams to manage simulator hardware/software obsolescence.
- Develop a broad understanding of key techniques and applications across installed Training Simulators.
- Provide simulation technical information and expertise to other disciplines, both engineering and non-engineering, as required.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Formal Engineering Degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience:
- Hands-on experience in process simulation software (steady state and dynamic simulation).
- Knowledge of control systems such as Foxboro, Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, TRICONEX, and CCC control systems.
- At least 10 years of working experience in process modelling and Operator Training Simulators (OTS) using platforms such as Unisim Operation, Unisim Design, Dynsim, FSIM/SCP, and TRISIM.
- Practical experience with processes including Gas Processing, Refinery, Offsite, and Utilities.
