Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pipeline Pre-Commissioning Supervisor to oversee and execute site-level pre-commissioning activities for major pipeline and subsea projects.
The role is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of pipeline cleaning, gauging, flooding, hydrotesting, dewatering, drying, nitrogen purging, inerting, and intelligent pigging activities. The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with large-scale pre-commissioning spreads and proven capability leading multidisciplinary teams across both onshore and offshore operations.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise pipeline pre-commissioning activities from preparation through final system readiness.

Lead pipeline flooding, cleaning, and gauging operations.

Supervise hydrostatic testing and associated pressure testing activities.

Manage dewatering and air-drying operations.

Lead nitrogen purging and inerting activities using membrane and liquid nitrogen systems.

Coordinate intelligent pigging and baseline inspection tool runs.

Lead execution activities at pipeline launcher and receiver locations.

Oversee onshore and offshore pre-commissioning teams and contractor personnel.

Ensure correct setup, commissioning, and functional testing of pre-commissioning equipment and spreads.

Oversee operation of chemical injection units, hydrotest pumps, filtration systems, nitrogen generation systems, air dryers, compressors, and associated equipment.

Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications, and recognised pipeline engineering standards.

Coordinate closely with project engineering, construction, commissioning, client, and third-party inspection teams.

Monitor pre-commissioning progress and identify technical or operational issues that could affect project delivery.

Develop and support contingency plans for stuck pigs, pressure abnormalities, equipment failure, or other operational challenges.

Ensure accurate completion of testing records, reports, check sheets, and technical documentation.

Support troubleshooting and resolution of pipeline pre-commissioning issues during execution.

Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with project HSE requirements at all times.
Requirements

Minimum 8 years of pipeline pre-commissioning experience within oil and gas, pipeline, or subsea projects.

Minimum 5 years of supervisory or lead experience in pipeline pre-commissioning activities.

Proven hands-on experience operating or supervising large-scale nitrogen membrane systems.

Strong experience with pipeline flooding, cleaning, gauging, hydrotesting, dewatering, drying, nitrogen purging, and inerting.

Strong knowledge of intelligent pigging and pipeline inspection operations.

Experience with pipeline integrity testing and associated pre-commissioning processes.

Good understanding of seawater treatment and chemical injection requirements for pipeline pre-commissioning.

Experience with high-capacity pumps, compressors, filtration systems, drying equipment, and nitrogen generation systems.

Good knowledge of international pipeline design, testing, and pre-commissioning standards.

Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in demanding onshore and offshore environments.

Strong troubleshooting, planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Demonstrated commitment to HSE and safe execution of high-risk pipeline operations.
Preferred Experience

Offshore and subsea pipeline pre-commissioning experience.

Experience supporting large-diameter or long-distance pipeline systems.

Previous experience working with EPC, installation, or specialist pipeline service contractors.

Experience developing contingency and recovery plans for complex pigging and testing operations.

Familiarity with pipeline handover and commissioning readiness processes.
