Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support manufacturing operations at a production facility in Atlanta, Georgia. This contract position will play a key role in maintaining compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations while supporting day-to-day EHS activities across manufacturing and warehouse operations.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on EHS professional who can work independently, provide practical safety guidance, and contribute to a strong safety culture within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine EHS inspections across manufacturing, warehouse, and operational areas.

  • Identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and track closure of findings.

  • Support incident, near-miss, and safety event investigations.

  • Perform root cause analysis and assist with implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

  • Coordinate hazardous waste management activities, including classification, labelling, storage, and disposal processes.

  • Conduct EHS risk assessments and job hazard analyses for manufacturing operations.

  • Support environmental, health, and safety compliance programmes.

  • Maintain regulatory documentation and compliance records.

  • Assist with OSHA recordkeeping and environmental reporting requirements.

  • Support management of permits, waste manifests, and compliance documentation.

  • Participate in internal audits and compliance reviews.

  • Track audit findings and corrective actions through to completion.

  • Promote a positive safety culture through engagement with operational teams.

  • Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on EHS requirements and best practices.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience within manufacturing, industrial, or production environments.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards.

  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Experience conducting workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.

  • Experience supporting incident investigations and root cause analysis activities.

  • Knowledge of hazardous waste management procedures and requirements.

  • Strong organisational and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Professional EHS certification or relevant safety training.

  • Experience supporting manufacturing or warehouse operations.

  • Knowledge of environmental permitting and compliance processes.
