Role Purpose
Provide site-based electrical installation and commissioning supervision while maintaining fact-based communication between site, project management, and back-office engineering. Ensure management has accurate visibility of progress, risks, quality, and safety to support robust forecasts and a smooth handover to Generation. Promote progress and a strong safety culture through contractor engagement, coordination, and collaborative problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Link site activities, Electrical Installation & Commissioning Management, and back-office functions, providing evidence-based feedback for risk assessments and forecasts.
- Role model safe behaviour and encourage contractors, subcontractors, and visitors to prioritise safety before quality and progress.
- Engage contractor and working-party supervisors to identify quality or progress issues and agree practical mitigations.
- Supervise equipment delivery, installation, cable work, mechanical completion, testing, and commissioning against project requirements.
- Execute Low Voltage and High Voltage Authorised Person duties, including electrical safety, lockout/tagout, and energisation checks.
- Coordinate cross-contractor interfaces and support a controlled handover of completed systems to Generation.
Tasks
- Facilitate alignment meetings with back-office engineers and on-site contractor team leads covering quality, progress, and safety.
- Provide system-specific updates on progress, risks, and quality to Electrical Installation & Commissioning Management.
- Review contractor inspection and test plans and procedures, and witness FAT, SAT, and SIT activities using CtF and CtQ criteria.
- Verify deliveries, damages, shipping lists, and unloading RAMS, then supervise installation, cable work, and interfaces between site contractors.
- Supervise mechanical completion of installed equipment and high-voltage, low-voltage, and communication cables.
- Complete relevant inspections and tests, manage NCRs and punches, and verify closeout before asset handover.
- Record safety observations, intervene where required, report to site QHSE, and submit lessons learned and improvement proposals.
Deliverables
- Completed Commissioning Document Register reported to the Electrical Installation & Commissioning Manager.
- Daily system-progress input to the Daily Progress Report through relevant reporting tools, plus minutes from regular alignment meetings.
- Rectified and closed electrical and electromechanical system punches recorded in the field management system.
- Lessons learned and improvement actions recorded in the safety management system, together with HSE observation records.
Authority / Accountability
- Accept or reject completion of installation, testing, and commissioning against contractual and project acceptance criteria.
- Establish and maintain electrical safety controls, lockout/tagout arrangements, and energisation checks within the authorised scope.
- Provide accurate, evidence-based progress, quality, and risk information to support project decisions and forecasts.
- Maintain safe site behaviour, coordinate contractor interfaces, and escalate material safety, quality, or delivery concerns.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or higher qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Recent installation, testing, and commissioning experience across HV, LV, electrical, electromechanical, mechanical, fluid, thermal, or multidisciplinary systems and cables.
- Experience with control and communication systems, including SCADA, networks, and telecommunications.
- Experience reviewing inspection and test plans and witnessing FAT, SAT, and SIT activities.
- Competence to execute LV AP and HV AP duties, electrical-safety controls, lockout/tagout, and energisation checks.
- Current UKOG medical certification and Chester Step Test with a minimum above-average rating.
- Current GWO Basic Safety, Enhanced First Aid, Basic Technical, Control of Hazardous Energies, and High Voltage training.
- Strong contractor coordination, observation, reporting, and fact-based communication skills in a site environment.
Working Conditions
- Site-based assignment in Poland from 1st November 2026 to 30th September 2027.
- Candidates must be Polish nationals or EU nationals with the legal right to work in Poland. Background verification is required before onboarding.
- The consultant must provide an up-to-date iPhone and permit installation and use of the client's mandatory mobile-device security and management software.
